Lawrence County is the second-largest in population and size of the 4 counties in District 4. The Lawrence County School System oversees 16 primary and secondary schools as well as several private school options. Lawrence County has the highest population of native Americans of any county in the state. It is also the birthplace of Jesse Owens, who lived in the community of Oakville.
